Celerity (Discipline)

Vampires can reeeeeallly get going if they spin up their legs first.

This Discipline is In-Clan for:
Camarilla Clans: Clan Brujah, Clan Cacophenes, Clan Toreador
Sabbat Clans: Clan Banu Haqim (+Vizier Bloodline), Brujah Antitribu, Nosferatu Antitribu, Toreador Antitribu
Independent Clans: City Gangrel, Scout Gargoyle, della Passaglia Giovanni
Small Independents: Clan Nictuku

Celerity (Base Game)

Since the Vampiric Condition effectively has your body kept in the state it was right before you died, it only makes sense that Kindred would have the ability to speed themselves up so fast through time that you can blink and suddenly be punched in the groin six times in a row.
Jokes aside, this Discipline is just the Kindred’s version of super speed, and it’s a big part of the reason why they can go toe to toe with just about any other Supernatural on the block.

Rumour has it that practitioners of Celerity will find themselves eventually using it reflexively, viewing the rest of the world as moving too slowly. Speed is a hell of a drug.
System: Each Rank of Celerity grants +1 Die to all Dexterity Rolls passively.
Additionally, the Kindred may spend 1 Blood Point p/Rank of Celerity to add an additional Action to their Turn. This may bypass Generational Limits, but if this is the case, after all of the Actions are spent the Kindred must Roll @ DC 5 + the Blood Points spent to resist Frenzying. Pumping adrenaline through your body @ 3x, 4x, or even 5x the speed of a normal person is overwhelming as shit!!

Celerity (Praestantia)

A favorite of Banu Haqim assassins and Brujah hitmen the world ‘round, the Praestantia Variant of Celerity is known for turning its practitioners into highly efficient, unshakable killers who always get their payday.
Just don’t let anyone know you’ve got it, otherwise they’ll start trying to surprise you at every chance they get.

Instead of accelerating their bodies, practitioners of this Variant accelerate their senses.
System: Each Rank of Celerity (Praestantia) grants +1 Die to all Wits Rolls passively. Additionally, the Kindred may spend 1 Blood Point p/Rank of Celerity (Praestantia) to remove 1 Failure from a Dexterity or Wits Roll once p/Turn. This may bypass generational limits.

Celerity (Path of Mercury)

During the takeover of California by the Anarchs, a book was saved from a burning Tremere Chantry that detailed “The Path of Mercury,” or a way for Kindred to teleport. Of course, the Anarch Baron of San Diego got right on decoding and reverse engineering it, arming her trusted allies with the ability to simply appear wherever they wish.
If a Tremere catches you using this Variation, however, they might put out a bounty on your head for utilizing stolen knowledge. Even if you say you figured it out on your own.

Vibrations are the key to this one. Instead of speeding yourself up, you let the speed generate in your body FIRST, THEN take a step— instantly bringing you to where you need to go before your foot hits the floor.
System: Per Rank of Celerity (Path of Mercury), the Kindred may teleport up to 25ft away by making a Dexterity + Survival Roll @ DC 7, and by spending 1 Blood Point p/25ft. The Blood Cost can be circumvented by “building up static” first, or simply taking a Movement Action each Turn p/25ft you wish to teleport.
Note that this does not prevent you from performing other Actions in the meantime— while “charging up,” you may Attack, use Powers, investigate things, and do whatever else might be more important in the moment.

Celerity (Transitus Velociter)

Developed by warmongering Toreador commanders during the Dark Ages, Transitus Velociter allows for the spreading of the speed inherent to the Kindred, and was used to turn marches thru grasslands into sprints.

It helps if you’re in the front of the pack, by the way. Even more if you’re holding a flag of some sort.
System: Per Rank of Celerity (Transitus Velociter), the Kindred may grant 1 person who tastes her Vitae a copy of her Dexterity Attribute (plus any bonuses) for 12 hours p/point of Vitae Spent. This means that if the Kindred has Rank 3 of this Power, 3 individuals may benefit from the effect for the cost of 1 Blood Point.
If any Powers are used that manipulate the Kindred’s Dexterity positively, her Allies under this effect also receive them too.
